Fans of “The View” were fuming over co-host Sunny Hostin. She made a series of unsettling racist remarks which caused a brutal backlash from those who supported the show.

Asunción Hostin, who goes by the nickname “Sunny,” started out as an attorney before she set her sights on becoming a TV journalist. In 2016, Sunny became a permanent co-host on The View. However, the Puerto Rican lawyer caused fans of the show to become upset, and it made headlines.
According to Decider, Hostin initially gained attention for calling Nikki Haley’s name into question by calling the former governor of South Carolina a “chameleon” for using her middle name “Nikki” to hide her Indian heritage. Haley fired back at Hostin. “Thanks for your concern @Sunny,” she tweeted. “It’s racist of you to judge my name. Nikki is an Indian name and is on my birth certificate—and I’m proud of that. What’s sad is the left’s hypocrisy towards conservative minorities. By the way, last I checked Sunny isn’t your birth name.”

Hostin followed that up by making the allegation that Republican voters would start a civil war after former President Donald Trump alluded to “something bad happening” on a radio show. When the other hosts failed to agree that GOP voters were out to do violence, Hostin took aim at construction workers who didn’t catcall because they were somehow racist. “Ana, you and I were walking just a few weeks ago in front of our building and we had a group of construction workers yelling ‘Trump 2024! Trump 2024!’” Hostin said.
During another episode, Hostin questioned Ana Navarro’s decision to remain in the Republican Party despite not being a supporter of Donald Trump. Hostin pointed out that one of her “biggest issues” with her co-host is that she “doesn’t understand how a Latina woman who even left from Nicaragua could be even part of [the GOP] party.”

All those issues added up and caused fans to take to social media to blast Hostin. “Sunny Hostin is going all in on the sanctimonious, holier than thou, belligerent, condescending attitude this morning,” one fan pointed out. “I’m a screaming liberal, but I would appreciate her shutting the f*ck up for a hot minute.”
Others pointed out her alleged racism. “Wallowing in racism again, ‘Sunny Hostin’ knocks Ana Navarro for being a ‘Latina woman’ and ‘Republican,’” a viewer said just days after someone else asked, “Why isn’t Sunny Hostin fired already? I’m so sick of these on-air talents and their racist comments. Totally disgusting,” regarding her beef with Haley.

The hits on social media kept coming. “Sunny Hostin is just your ordinary mean girl – might fit right in with any junior high or high school clique,” a third person posted. Someone else said, “Sunny Hostin (the view) needs to get a life. She is on the verge of being creepy mean-spirited.”
Another viewer weighed in. “Hey ladies of #theview. Please allow Alyssa to finish her thought, her sentence. Talking to you #Sunnyhostin,” they wrote in defense of Alyssa Farah Griffin, while another added, “Great job @Alyssafarah you’re contending with a very bitter person named Sunny Hostin.” The lawyer turned TV talk show host also landed in hot water when she claimed to be against abortion as a “Catholic,” but then blasted the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade and has indicated she supports the Democrat Party, which is pro-abortion.
